Sardar Muhammad Arif Nakai ( Nakai سردار محمد عارف) belonged to a noble family of Nakai Misl, one of the 12 Misls of Sikh Confederacy. He was a Pakistani Muslim Jatt politician and had been part of the country's political landscape for well over forty years. He was the Chief Minister of Pakistan's most populous province from September 13, 1995 to November 3, 1996. He was elected Member of Punjab Assembly for four consecutive terms during 1985-88, 1988–90, 1990–93 and 1993–96; and also functioned as Minister for Revenue, Minister for Forests, Minister for Livestock & Dairy Development Department, Minister for Industries and Mineral Development and as Chief Minister of Punjab during 1995-96. '' There had been a tug of war between Sardar Arif Nakai of Wan Adhan, tehsil Pattoki and Rana Phool Muhammad Khan of Bahi Pheru. Arif Nakai's nephew and son-in-law is famous politician Sardar Talib Hasan Nakai. His sons are Sardar Muhammad Asif Nakai ( Former Minister of State), (Late) Sardar Pervaiz Hasan Nakai and Sardar Atif Nakai, former Tehsil Nazim of Pattoki Tehsil.
